So I'm setting up a firewall for our lab but want to free up ports in case we need to establish remote connections to DF from outside our network.

What ports and protocol does DaqFactory use for remote connections?

Depends. Ports 2345-2348 are used for connecting two copies of DAQFactory together. The protocol is proprietary. If you are using the webserver, you'll likely want port 80, but you can configure that to whatever you want. Depending on what you want to do, often a tool like ntrconnect.com is more secure way to connect into DF from outside a firewall as it doesn't require the firewall to open any ports.
