jack_labber
Hi, I am tired of having to use microsoft OS to use your software, is there source code or a compiled unix version available?, the software is really unstable and useless running in a virtual windows environment inside fedora. or a I being dumb and missing something. AzeoTech
You mean Linux of course. Yeah, there is no way the windows version of DAQFactory is going to run in a virtual environment under Linux (or Mac). There are simply too many optimization hooks that cause problems. We are considering a linux version under Release 6.0 which will be designed to allow us to port it, but if it happens it won't be until the end of next year at the earliest. In the meantime, I would just go out and buy another computer that runs windows and use it instead. Computers are so cheap now that there is no reason not to. DAQFactory will easily run on the cheapest Dell you can find, and likely on many older used computers you can get your hands on. As long as the PC can adequately run 2000 Pro or XP, you should be fine (though I will add that R6.0 will likely not support 2000). The amazing part is that DAQFactory plus a new computer is still much less expensive than, say, LabView or Wonderware.
