Finding Current Ctl Filename

Is there a function or variable that will return the path and filename of the CTL?  I want to get the filename, so that I can check the save time, and conditionally perform a step that only  needs to be done if the file has been changed.  It doesn't hurt anything if it's done and there were no changes to the file, but the process is time consuming and I'd like to avoid it when I can be sure the file hasn't changed.

 

If there is no such variable or function, it seems like it could be useful at times, so please put this in feature requests.
