Timer 1 & 2 in mode 4 (duty cycle)

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am using LabJack U3 using DAQFactory Express.

Latest hardware, latest drivers, latest software versions.

I need to measure the duty cycle of two separate digital signals.

Frequency varying from 10Hz to 600 Hz.

Duty cycle varying from 1% to 99%.

Therefore I intend to set LabJack U3 Timer Clock to 500 Khz.

Can somebody help me configuring DAQFactory U3 configuration panel :

- the two input pins (if possible : EIO0 for Timer 0 and EIO1 for Timer 1)

- the clock frequency and clock divider

- both timers enabled in mode 4

- and tell me if all other LabJack U3 pins are stil available for anything else

Can somebody help me configuring DAQFactory U3 Channel Table :

Is it "timer" or is it "counter" in the "I/O Type" column ?

I would like to get 5 readings per second.

Shall I put 0.02 in the "Timing" column ?

Can somebody help me displaying the related variable values in DAQFactory measurement page :

- count value period HIGH (0 to 65535) on pin EIO0

- counter value period LOW (0 to 65535) on pin EIO0

- count value period HIGH (0 to 65535) on pin EIO1

- counter value period LOW (0 to 65535) on pin EIO1

This is for diagnosing the ignition circuit on a car : engine RPM, spark advance and dwell.

Let me know if you want me to post the application once finished, I'll be glad to do it.

Regards,

Steph
