Here is a sample of how to make a popup keypad for editing variables. I used just the numbers, period and negative, but you could do other characters as well. All you have to do is duplicate a key and change the caption. The popup is designed so it can be reused for multiple variables. Just set the SetToVariable local of the popupedit component to the desired variable name. Look at the Action of the two Change buttons to see.

You can of course change the look of the keypad by using symbols instead of buttons, or changing color, size, etc.
