Either somehow importing specific pages directly, merging files, or mabe load the old app, copy the relevant page, open new application and paste the copied page into the new? You are correct that loading the new doc clears out the old, but you can simply run two copies of DF on the same computer, one with the old doc and one with the new, and cut / paste between them.
