Robyn
Hi, I thought I would move an existing older DAQF project to the new Version 5.90. When I loaded the data base the channels, which are mostly Modbus, had all lost their read type. I have tried this several times but with the same result. See the screen dump, first with the latest stable version then the latest 5.90 I appreciate your comments, all I did was open the database in both platforms
AzeoTech
That usually happens when DAQFactory can't load the .dds or .ddp file for the device / protocol.
Robyn
Taking that as a clue I went back, uninstalled V5.90, reinstalled and checked that the files pModbusASCII.ddp and pModbusRTU.ddp were in the DAQFactory directory. They were there. Any other clues?

Robyn
Attached is the data base stripped of everything but the channels, it opens in full screen mode so it looks blank, F4 of course fixes that. Thanks. I have checked this cut down version shows the same problem in the latest version but loads ok in the older one. AzeoTech
It loads right up on my system. But, on examination I see that the protocol is Modbus ASCII. Do you have the ModbusASCII ddp and dll files? (pModbusASCII)
Robyn
Yep, got all those in the directory. pModbusASCII.ddp 2kb 8/04/2014 5:49 am pModbusASCII.dll 58 kb 20/09/2013 2:01 pm
AzeoTech
When you go to Quick Device configuration, and select new serial / ethernet, does ModbusASCII show up as one of the possible protocols? What about from a blank document?
Robyn
Sorry, have been totally busy on other development, yes the ModbusASCII etc options are all there in the Quick Device procedure
AzeoTech
Still can't reproduce. Is it only a certain I/O type? Read Input S16 (3)? It seems to have one I/O type but not another. Maybe post your .ddp file so I can compare.
