eFried
Is is worth trying to script a fuzzy control or better to head for alternative products? thanks
AzeoTech
Depends on how complicated you want to get. Fuzzy logic algorithms are not typically very complicated and I would think would be easy to script. I'd certainly suggest giving it a try. If nothing else, you'd learn a lot about the details of fuzzy logic that would help you better understand how it affects your system that would otherwise be hidden by a canned fuzzy logic tool. SteveMyres
I absolutely HATE the term "fuzzy logic". It sounds denigrating, like the process is muddle-headed, while still seeming to imply that it's beyond understanding. I think a better name might be "adaptive control". It's nothing more than the principles we often implement by hand anyway, but the vague name, whenever it isn't busy sounding insulting, makes it seem as if the process is some hidden and inscrutable magic. AzeoTech
I think they chose the term because it complements "discrete" logic: if x then y. The concepts are really quite simple and therefore pretty easy to implement in script. Its mostly just basic math.
eFried
more details: connecting labjacks U3 or U12 very slow update cycle The number of rules is less than 10 I guess. viable? thanks
AzeoTech
Definitely, but again you'd need a little script. Fuzzy logic algorithms aren't hard to do, and really are just basic math.
